Heart Galleries of Texas is offering a 3-part caregiver training series, presented over 3 months, to foster parents, adoptive parents, and kinship caregivers on the adoption process. Caregiver trainings provide knowledge, support, and guidance to caregivers to help them explore adoption and what it means for them and their family. We encourage caregivers to attend each session at a date that best works for them as the sessions will cover different topics. All training sessions will be offered on three different dates.

This 3-part series, presented over 3 months, will explore topics such as understanding the adoption process, the social-emotional impacts of adoption, and strategies to navigate the lifelong adoption journey.
Session 1: Introduction to the Adoption Process:
- August 11th, 11 am–12 pm
Session 1 Objectives:
- Develop an understanding of the adoption process within the child welfare system.
- Explore misconceptions about adoptive families and children commonly featured in adoption recruitment.
- Reflect on what adoption means for you as a caregiver and for your family.
This training is open to all caregivers, including foster parents, adoptive parents, and kinship caregivers.
